Softball Recap: Victoria West Comes Up Short

If Victoria West was riding high fresh off their 11-1 takedown of Fort Bend Marshall on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warriors lost 9-3 to the Lamar Consolidated Mustangs on Thursday. The Warriors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Mustangs earlier this season, when they won 12-6.

Kendall Marshall was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Victoria West's loss dropped their record down to 14-13. As for Lamar Consolidated, their victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-3.

Coming up, Victoria West will take on Milby at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Buffs will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lamar Consolidated, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 11-0 victory against George Ranch on the 22nd.
