Volleyball Recap: Boone Grove Comes Up Short

Boone Grove lost against Rensselaer Central back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Wolves came up short against the Bombers, falling 3-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Wolves were not able to get on the board.

Boone Grove took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-21, 25-23.

Jordyn Botma paced Boone Grove's offense, picking up ten kills. Botma got some help from Mya Wargo and her 16 assists. Wargo also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Lauren Voudrie, racking up two apiece.

Rensselaer Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Emily Louck, who had six digs and four aces. That's the most aces Louck has posted since back in October of 2024.

Boone Grove has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Rensselaer Central, they pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Boone Grove will welcome Oregon-Davis at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rensselaer Central, they will head out to square off against Kankakee Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
