Recap: Desert Oasis Diamondbacks vs. Shadow Ridge Mustangs
The Desert Oasis Diamondbacks can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 55-17 victory over Shadow Ridge. That 55-17 margin sets a new team best for Desert Oasis this season.
When it comes to explaining why Shadow Ridge lost, one person who can't be blamed is Zh?mya Martin. Despite the final result, she scored 21 points. Martin scored a full 123.5% of Shadow Ridge's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Jaslyn Jefferson was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Desert Oasis' win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Shadow Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Desert Oasis will take on Arbor View at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Arbor View is ranked 31st, while Desert Oasis is ranked 47th). Shadow Ridge won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Orangewood Academy at 3:00 p.m. on January 5th.
