Preview: Berea-Midpark Titans vs. Strongsville Mustangs

The Berea-Midpark Titans will head out on the road to face off against the Strongsville Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Berea-Midpark put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Steele 79-59. The result was nothing new for Berea-Midpark, who have now won three matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.

It was another big night for Devyn Zahursky, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 20 rebounds. Those 24 points set a new season-high mark for him. Tyson Clay was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.

Meanwhile, Strongsville didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Euclid on Friday, but they still walked away with a 61-57 win. Given Strongsville's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 174th, while Euclid is ranked 671st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Berea-Midpark's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.1 points per game. As for Strongsville, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Berea-Midpark couldn't quite finish off Strongsville in their previous matchup back in February and fell 73-70. Can Berea-Midpark avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
