Soccer Game Preview: Garinger vs. Butler + How To Watch

The Garinger Wildcats will head out on the road to challenge the Butler Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Garinger is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Myers Park just ended the team's three-match winning streak on Monday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs. While losing is never fun, Garinger can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 36th, while Myers Park are ranked first).

Garinger's goal came courtesy of Danny Escobar, who's now up to three this season.

Meanwhile, in Monday's Canine Competition, Butler didn't have enough. They lost 5-0 to Hough on Monday. Butler have struggled against Hough recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Butler's loss dropped their record down to 3-10-2. As for Garinger, they suffered their first road defeat, dropping their record down to 11-6-2.

Garinger took their win against Butler when the teams last played on Tuesday by a conclusive 8-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
