Baseball Game Preview: Sutter Huskies vs. Poly Parrots

The Sutter Huskies will face off against the Poly Parrots at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sutter is coming into the game hot, having won their last eight games.

Sutter's tournament run continued when they took on Southeast Career Tech on Tuesday. The Huskies put the hurt on the Roadrunners with a sharp 17-3 victory. The Huskies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Tyler Smith was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (two). He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Sutter got a massive performance out of Blake Boyer, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI and two runs. Those three RBI gave Boyer a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Karter Johnson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Sutter always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .630. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southeast Career Tech only posted an OBP of .345.

Poly not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 25, 2025 (when they won 9-0). They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over Hilltop.

Sutter's win bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Poly, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.
