Basketball Recap: Johnson Gets the Win

Johnson won the last time they faced Florin, and Henok Haile did his part to make sure it happened again. The Johnson Warriors escaped with a win on Wednesday against the Florin Panthers by the margin of a single free throw, 61-60 thanks in part to Haile, who went 6-for-13 to rack up 19 points. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 41.7% three-point shooting accuracy.

JR Lang was another key player, putting up seven points along with six boards and four steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Florin's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elijah Hatter, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Lafayette Berry, who almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine boards.

Johnson's victory bumped their record up to 10-16. As for Florin, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.

Johnson has already played their next contest, an 81-37 loss against Foothill on the 7th. As for Florin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 56-39 defeat against Armijo on the 7th.
