Basketball Recap: Moore Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Moore posted their closest victory since February 16, 2024 on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Putnam City North Panthers, sneaking past 60-57. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Panthers are ranked 34th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Putnam City North still got an impressive performance from Nate Muriithi, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was DKarin Johnson, who posted eight points.

Moore's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-2. As for Putnam City North, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-5.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Douglass the next time they take the court. Putnam City North will head out to face Douglass at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Moore will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
