Soccer Game Preview: Rancho Mirage vs. Beaumont

The Rancho Mirage Rattlers will square off against the Beaumont Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Wednesday, Rancho Mirage narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Palm Springs 2-1. Given the Rattlers' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 261st, while the Indians are ranked 876th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, Beaumont made sure to put some goals up on the board against Redlands on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 4-1 margin over the Terriers. The win continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Terriers: they've now won six in a row.

Rancho Mirage has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 35 goals over those 13 matches. As for Beaumont, their victory bumped their record up to 11-3-4.
