Basketball Recap: LEE Comes Up Short

After flying high against SA Roosevelt last Friday, LEE came back down to earth. The LEE Volunteers took a 60-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Reagan Rattlers on Wednesday. The Volunteers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rattlers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, LEE still got an impressive performance from Rosanelly Pastrano, who posted 24 points and four steals. The contest was Pastrano's 21st in a row with at least ten points. Nena Alvarado was another key player, putting up nine points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, LEE smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Reagan's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sahara Green, who put up 17 points and five assists. Another player making a difference was Renata Parga, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

LEE has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 18-8 record this season. As for Reagan, they pushed their record up to 15-9 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.

When LEE and Reagan next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. LEE will try to stop Johnson's three-game winning streak when the meet at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. LEE is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.7 points per game this season. Meanwhile, Reagan will try to stop Churchill's seven-game winning streak when the meet at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
