Olympus and Brighton are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2022, but likely not for long. Olympus will square off against Brighton at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Olympus made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Skyline, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Olympus was the clear victor by a 13-3 margin over Skyline on Friday. The Titans' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Meanwhile, Brighton came tearing into Thursday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Leopards as they made off with a 13-2 win. Considering the Bengals have won four contests by more than eight runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Case Beames tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024.
On the hitting side, Brighton got a massive performance out of Easton Fry, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs Fry has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Riley Brown, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Brighton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in three consecutive games.
Olympus pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Brighton, their record now sits at 5-2.
Olympus might still be hurting after the 8-0 loss they got from Brighton in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Olympus avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
