Volleyball Recap: St. Marys Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

St. Marys entered their tilt with Ritchie County on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Rebels. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 last Tuesday.

St. Marys had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-10, 16-14.

Brynnley Bulluck paced St. Marys' offense, picking up 17 kills. Bulluck got some help from Rylee Renner and her 19 assists. Renner was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

St. Marys' win bumped their record up to 15-10-1. As for Ritchie County, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.

St. Marys has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Calhoun on the 13th. As for Ritchie County, they will head out on the road to take on Notre Dame at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
