Recap: Hamilton Big Blue vs. Harrison Wildcats
The Hamilton Big Blue's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight defeat. They fell just short of Harrison by a score of 53-50. While losing is never fun, Hamilton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 540th, while Harrison is ranked 124th).
Harrison's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alli Robertson, who scored 18 points. Robertson is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 16 or more in the last 16 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Abby Smith, who scored 14 points.
Hamilton dropped their record down to 3-17 with that defeat, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Harrison, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.
Hamilton will head out on the road to square off against Lakota East at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lakota East will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Hamilton surely won't give up without a fight. As for Harrison, they will play host again and welcome Edgewood, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Edgewood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Saturday.
