Basketball Recap: Thomas Ridlehuber's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Sullivan East over Virginia High

Sullivan East played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Virginia High Bearcats, falling 78-58. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 339th in Tennessee, while the Bearcats are ranked 129th in Virginia).

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Thomas Ridlehuber, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Hubbard, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 boards.

Sullivan East has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Virginia High, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Sullivan East wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 53-37 loss against North Greene on the 7th. As for Virginia High, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 56-53 defeat against George Wythe on the 31st.
