Rockingham County had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt Ben L. Smith on Tuesday. The Cougars never let the Golden Eagles get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. Considering the Cougars have won eight matches by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Ava Grace Pruitt was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

In other batting news, Kennidy Kirby and Bailey Macey did most of the damage at the plate: Kirby went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Macey fired off two home runs while going 2-for-2. Those two home runs gave Macey a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zoey Snead, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Rockingham County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive games.

Rockingham County pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Ben L. Smith, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Rockingham County beat the Golden Eagles by a score of 15-0 later that day.
