Baseball Game Preview: North Miami Warriors vs. Carroll Cougars

North Miami is 0-8 against Carroll since May of 2016 but things could change on Wednesday. The Warriors will host the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. North Miami has given up an average of 10.8 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

North Miami is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They walked away with a 16-11 victory over Pioneer on Tuesday. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Logan Smith, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lake Musall, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

North Miami always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Carroll lost 9-2 to Maconaquah on Tuesday.

Carroll saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Coy Lytle, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. That stolen base was Lytle's first of the season.

North Miami's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Carroll, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5.

Carroll's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: North Miami has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.5 hits per game. It's a different story for Carroll, though, as they've been averaging 11.7 hits. Given North Miami's sizable advantage in that area, the Cougars will need to find a way to close that gap.
