Football Game Preview: Crowley Eagles vs. North Crowley Panthers

Crowley is 0-6 against North Crowley since September of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Crowley turned things around against Mansfield Legacy last Thursday. They walked away with a 30-21 victory over the Broncos. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since September 6, 2018, but that streak is no more.

Crowley relied on the efforts of Antayvious Ellis, who picked up 173 receiving yards and one touchdown, and Kenyen Cotton, who gained 140 total yards and a touchdown. Those 173 receiving yards gave Ellis a new career-high.

Crowley was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 220 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 220 rushing yards in seven consecutive games.

Crowley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Jaleal Allen. Matthias Martin was another major factor on D, making 12 total tackles (5.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when North Crowley took on Mansfield on Thursday. The Panthers blew past the Tigers, posting a 70-21 win. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 45 points or more this season.

Crowley's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for North Crowley, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.

Crowley was dealt a bruising 65-21 loss at the hands of North Crowley in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
