Softball Recap: Montgomery Comes Up Short

St. Vincent de Paul hit Montgomery with a five-run second inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Vikings took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs. The Vikings were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Mustangs earlier this season, when they won 22-18.

Kalee Murray made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Sierra Stewart also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Montgomery has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for St. Vincent de Paul, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Montgomery will square off against rival Elsie Allen at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, St. Vincent de Paul is set to face off against their familiar foe Ukiah at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
