Football Recap: Horizon Huskies vs. Millennium Tigers

There's no place like home for Horizon, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They blew past the Millennium Tigers 38-8 at home on Friday. The 38-point effort marked the Huskies' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Johnny Issitt was his usual excellent self, rushing for 158 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rushing yards. Another player making a difference was Adem Wagner, who picked up 112 receiving yards and a touchdown.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Horizon's defense and their four sacks. Nathan Senior was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up twohimself.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 12 points in total. All came courtesy of Palmer Podwika: he went 3-for-3 kicking field goals for nine points, and 3-for-3 again kicking extra points for an additional three.

Horizon's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. As for Millennium, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Horizon will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Notre Dame Prep at 7:00 p.m. on October 11th. Horizon knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Notre Dame Prep likes a good challenge. As for Millennium, they will take on Desert Edge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
