Baseball Recap: Holy Redeemer Royals vs. MMI Preparatory School        
        
		
            
 Holy Redeemer waltzed into their matchup  on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They were the clear victor by  a  12-2 margin over MMI Preparatory School. With that  victory, Holy Redeemer brought their scoring average up to 6.5  runs per game.
  Nick Mazzarella was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing five innings while giving up just two earned runs off   three  hits. Mazzarella has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in four consecutive pitching appearances. Mazzarella was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs while  getting on base  in two of his three plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Drew Cisney, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-3. Cisney is crushing it when it comes to  stolen bases: he's   stolen at least one every time he's  taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was  Luke Kopec, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-2.
 On MMI Preparatory School's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Caleb Skuba, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-2.
 Holy Redeemer pushed their record up to 6-2 with that  win, which was their fourth straight  at home. As for MMI Preparatory School, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
 Holy Redeemer will head out on the road to  square off against  Loyalsock Township at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday. The two teams have allowed few  runs on average, (Holy Redeemer: 2.2, Loyalsock Township: 3.8) so any  runs scored will be well earned. As for MMI Preparatory School, they are on the road again  on Friday to play Greater Nanticoke Area at 4:15  p.m. MMI Preparatory School has given up an average of 6.4 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
