Basketball Recap: Marion Comes Up Short

Marion lost against Mullins back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Marion Swamp Foxes took a 66-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mullins Auctioneers.

It was another big night for Dakarai Worley, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 12 boards for Mullins. Worley is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last three games he's played. Deyon Ford was another key player, putting up 20 points along with six assists and five rebounds.

Marion dropped their record down to 10-13 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Mullins, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marion will square off against East Clarendon at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mullins, they will challenge Atlantic Collegiate Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
