Baseball Recap: Northwest Comes Up Short

Northwest fell victim to St. Clair and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 2-0. The Lions just can't catch a break and have now endured nine losses in a row.

Northwest got a good showing from Dakota Werner, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. That's the fewest earned runs Werner has allowed since back in April.

Northwest's defeat dropped their record down to 5-18. As for St. Clair, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-11.

Coming up, Northwest will head out on the road to square off against Affton at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for St. Clair, they will host New Haven at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Shamrocks will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight.
