Preview: Rogers Vikings vs. St. Raphael Academy Saints
The Rogers Vikings will head out on the road to challenge the St. Raphael Academy Saints at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Rogers unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell to Lincoln 63-58.
Meanwhile, St. Raphael Academy faced Johnston in a battle between two of the state's top teams. St. Raphael Academy secured a 67-62 W over Johnston on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but St. Raphael Academy sure is getting used to it with their 12th in a row.
Rogers' loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-4. As for St. Raphael Academy, they pushed their record up to 13-1 with that victory, which was their seventh straight on the road.
Rogers couldn't quite finish off St. Raphael Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 and fell 44-41. Can Rogers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
