Football Recap: Discovery Takes a Loss

Discovery fell victim to LaBelle and their airtight defense on Friday. They were outmatched by the Cowboys/Cowgirls and fell 64-0. The defeat leaves the Spartans still looking for their first win of the season.

Cooper Wyas threw for 56 yards on seven of 14 attempts. Trey Wilbanks was his top target, picking up 46 receiving yards.

It was another big night for Marquay Bradshaw, who rushed for 60 yards and three TDs for LaBelle. Bradshaw is crushing it when it comes to rushing touchdowns: he's punched in at least two every time he's taken the field this season. Epifanio Hernandez got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Discovery's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for LaBelle, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Coming up, Discovery will head out on the road to square off against Umatilla at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs' defense has only allowed 7.4 points per game this season, so the Spartans' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for LaBelle, they will host Hardee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.
