After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Warwick, Gloucester was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over the Menchville Monarchs. For the Dukes, this counts as revenge for the 5-1 victory the Monarchs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Brayden Scott tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jesse Jackson was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Tyler Boulay, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Gloucester has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Menchville, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.

Gloucester will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Monarchs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
