Baseball Recap: Blake Find Success

Blake proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 16) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Churchill Bulldogs. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bengals have posted since March 29, 2025.

Isaac Blinkoff was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over 4.2 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Brody Matson was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Noah Temenak also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Blake's record now sits at 7-4-1. As for Churchill, they dropped their record down to 5-10 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road.

Blake has already played their next contest (against Kennedy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Churchill, they will take on Damascus at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The Swarmin' Hornets' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
