Volleyball Recap: Grace Academy Gets the Win

Grace Academy posted their closest win since August 31, 2024 on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Texas Lions HomeSchool Lions 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for Grace Academy.

If you add up the scores from across all three sets (60-57) Grace Academy actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-23, 15-12.

Aven Roberson paced Grace Academy's offense, picking up five kills. Roberson really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with eight. McKenna Fariss controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Grace Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Texas Lions HomeSchool, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grace Academy is headed away from home for the first time to face off against Texas Wind on Tuesday. As for Texas Lions HomeSchool, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Austin Classical at 6:00 p.m. on the 19th.
