Football Recap: Bucktail Takes a Loss

Bucktail made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Columbia Montour Vo-Tech, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Bucks fell just short of the Rams by a score of 36-34 on Friday. The close game was extra heartbreaking for the Bucks, who almost overcame a 20 point deficit.

Columbia Montour Vo-Tech found their leader in sophomore Myles Koser, who threw for 274 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 107 yards and one TD. Koser has become a key player for the Rams: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least three passing touchdowns, but 1-5 otherwise. Blake Sponenberg was another key player, picking up 122 receiving yards and one score.

Bucktail's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Columbia Montour Vo-Tech, the victory snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 4-6 record.

Looking ahead, Bucktail will host Renaissance Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Bucks will be up against the Knights' rather soft defense (which has allowed 33.33 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. Columbia Montour Vo-Tech does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
