Softball Preview: Montesano Bulldogs vs. Timberline Blazers        
        
		
            
 Montesano is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Timberline is on a six-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Montesano Bulldogs will take on the Timberline Blazers at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
 Last Saturday,  everything went Montesano's way against College Place as Montesano made off with  a  16-6 victory.
  Kaitlyn Trail looked comfortable as she  pitched three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in three consecutive pitching appearances.
 On the hitting side, Montesano got a  massive  performance out of  Alyssa Maldonado, who  went 3-for-4 with a  home run, three  RBI,  and two  runs.  Addi Kersker was another key contributor,  scoring three  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances.
 Meanwhile, Timberline has not done well against Peninsula recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Monday. Everything went Timberline's way against Peninsula as Timberline made off with  an  8-2 win.
  Jasmyn Polanco made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out seven batters over  seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off   seven  hits. Polanco was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs while going 1-for-3.
 In other batting news,  Kayleese Dorfner was  incredible,  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances with a  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Lina McDaniel, who  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 1-for-3.
 Montesano's victory bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Timberline, their win bumped their record up to 13-1.
 Both  both teams just can't seem to miss. Montesano has been making plenty of contact this season,  having  averaged 11.3  hits per game. However, it's not like Timberline struggles in that department as   they've been averaging  only 4.3. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
 Montesano beat Timberline 6-3  when the teams last played  back in April of 2023. Does  Montesano have another victory up their sleeve, or will Timberline turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
