Softball Recap: Bosqueville Snags Sixth Win in Last Seven Games

Bosqueville barely beat Moody the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Bosqueville blew past Moody 9-3 on Tuesday. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by six runs or more this season.

Corinne Sheffield spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Carli Wright, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since March 1st. Another player making a difference was Jayla Lee, who scored a run while going 2-for-5.

Bosqueville is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Moody and nudges their season record down to 9-7-1.

Bosqueville and Moody should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Bosqueville will take on Jonesboro at 6:00 p.m. on Friday up 345 places (224 vs. 569). Meanwhile, Moody (ranked 448th) will meet Hamilton (ranked 1082nd) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
