Volleyball Recap: Lacie Godby Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat South Newton

After losing to South Newton the last time they met, Cascade decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Cadets walked away with a 2-0 win over the Rebels on Saturday.

Cascade's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lacie Godby led the charge by getting 19 assists and six digs. Godby is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last 14 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Suzy Moore, who had nine digs and one assist.

Despite the loss, South Newton still got an impressive performance from Briley Iseminger, who had 15 digs and one assist.

Cascade's victory bumped their record up to 13-8. As for South Newton, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.

Cascade wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against Lafayette Jefferson on the 20th. As for South Newton, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Bloomington North on the 20th.
