Sam Houston entered their tilt with Brackenridge on Tuesday with 19 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 20. They snuck past the Brackenridge Eagles with a 50-46 victory. Given the Hurricanes' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 185th, while the Eagles are ranked 625th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Jakiyah Caldwell, who posted 23 points. Bre'Yanna Murray was another key player, putting up 12 points.

When it comes to explaining why Brackenridge lost, don't look at Layla Galvan. Despite the final result, she went 8 of 16 en route to 20 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Sky Lopez, who had seven points in addition to seven rebounds and three blocks.

Sam Houston has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 22 of their last 24 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 29-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.4 points per game. As for Brackenridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-15.
