Psalms Christian Academy faced Acadiana Home School Athletics in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Ambassadors narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Commandos 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Ambassadors sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Psalms Christian Academy was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-18, 19-25, 25-19, 16-14.

Acadiana Home School Athletics' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Elijah Chopin, who had seven digs, six kills, and five aces, and Leo Mader, who had 21 kills, five digs, and one block. Mader has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 11 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Nathan Mayeux, who had five kills and four digs.

Psalms Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Acadiana Home School Athletics, their loss dropped their record down to 10-4.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Psalms Christian Academy is set to take on their familiar foe First Baptist Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Acadiana Home School Athletics will face off against rival Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
