Soccer Game Preview: Washington vs. South Spencer

The Washington Hatchets will face off against the South Spencer Rebels at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Washington is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Heritage Hills on Saturday. The Hatchets fell 2-0 to the Patriots. Washington have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for South Spencer's offense. They lost 8-0 to Forest Park on Saturday. South Spencer have struggled against Forest Park recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

South Spencer's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Washington, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5-1.

Everything went Washington's way against South Spencer when the teams last played back in September of 2024, as Washington made off with a 4-0 win. Will the Hatchets repeat their success, or do the Rebels have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
