Basketball Recap: Port Jervis Takes a Loss

Port Jervis was the 53-51 winner over Cornwall Central when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Port Jervis Raiders fell to the Cornwall Central Dragons 57-53. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 433rd, while the Dragons are ranked 143rd).

Port Jervis dropped their record down to 5-5 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Cornwall Central, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Goshen Central the next time they take the court. Port Jervis will host Goshen Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Cornwall Central will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th.
