Preview: Potomac Wolverines vs. Gwynn Park Yellowjackets
The Potomac Wolverines will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Gwynn Park Yellowjackets at 6:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Potomac sitting on three straight wins and Gwynn Park on six.
With a playoff game on the line, Potomac rose to the challenge on Thursday. They secured a 27-21 W over Thomas Stone.
Potomac got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Marshawn Perry out in front who threw for 145 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Bernard Howard, who picked up 89 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Gwynn Park can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent contest on Thursday. They blew past La Plata 48-0 at home.
Potomac's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Gwynn Park, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3.
Potomac didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Gwynn Park in their previous matchup back in September, but they still walked away with a 18-13 victory. Will Potomac repeat their success, or does Gwynn Park have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
