Recap: Mountain Range Mustangs vs. Brighton Bulldogs

The Mountain Range Mustangs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They strolled past Brighton with points to spare, taking the game 83-66. That looming 83-66 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Mountain Range yet this season.

Mountain Range got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Moses West out in front who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. West has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mataeo Jourdan, who scored 24 points.

Brighton's loss came despite strong showings from Austin Sickler and Vance Martinez. Sickler scored 24 points along with five assists and five rebounds, while Martinez scored 22 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sickler has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Corey Morgan, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.

Mountain Range's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points per game. As for Brighton, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mountain Range will take on Loveland at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Loveland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Saturday. As for Brighton, they will head out on the road to challenge Rocky Mountain at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Rocky Mountain's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests.
