Basketball Recap: Peyton Hofer's Big Game Can't Quite Lead East Central over South Dearborn

East Central lost against South Dearborn back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The East Central Trojans took a 61-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Dearborn Knights.

Several Trojans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Peyton Hofer, who went 5 for 8 en route to 14 points and six assists. Joel Richter was another key player, putting up 12 points and five assists.

South Dearborn was led to victory by Scout Gray and Tyler Christian. Gray went 6 of 9 on his way to 17 points, while Christian went 7 for 10 en route to 19 points. Another player making a difference was Conor Huff, who posted seven points.

East Central dropped their record down to 2-9 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for South Dearborn, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-5.

East Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 49-46 victory against Harrison on the 25th. As for South Dearborn, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 65-49 win against Switzerland County on the 25th.
