Basketball Recap: King Takes a Loss

If King was riding high fresh off their 76-42 takedown of Corpus Christi Moody last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The King Mustangs took a 69-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Carroll Tigers. The Mustangs have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Daniel Sanchez was the offensive standout of the matchup as he posted 19 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Trey Rodriguez, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 15 points.

King's defeat dropped their record down to 12-16. As for Carroll, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-16.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial the next time they take the court. King will head out to face Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Carroll will host them at 7:30 p.m. on January 28th.
