Basketball Recap: The Epiphany School of Global Studies Comes Up Short

The Epiphany School of Global Studies extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 5-5. They had to suffer through a 75-40 loss at the hands of the Harrells Christian Academy Crusaders. The Falcons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-15.

When it comes to explaining why The Epiphany School of Global Studies lost, don't look at Thomas Lathan. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine boards. Thanks to that strong game, Lathan now owns an excellent 41.4% three-point shooting accuracy. Finley Parker was another key player, putting up eight points and five assists.

As for Harrells Christian Academy, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1. Given their advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while The Epiphany School of Global Studies is ranked 229th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Antonio McKoy was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 34 points and 11 rebounds. The matchup was his 27th in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was J'Kaeshi Brunson, who posted seven points along with 12 assists and five boards.

The Epiphany School of Global Studies has already played their next contest, a 77-18 loss against Wayne Country Day on the 9th. As for Harrells Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-47 victory against Northside Christian on the 6th.
