Meanwhile, Athens fell victim to Center and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Roughriders. The loss was Athens' first of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Athens fell to 4-1. As for Marshall, their win bumped their record up to 3-4-2.
