Basketball Recap: New West Charter's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Six

New West Charter extended their postseason success on Saturday against Dr. Maya Angelou Community. They escaped with a win against the Dr. Maya Angelou Community Phoenix by the margin of a single free throw, 46-45. The win was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won six matches in a row.

New West Charter was led to victory by Lior Einhorn and Liam Hakimi. Einhorn shot 6-for-11 from downtown and dropped a double-double with 20 points and 13 boards, while Hakimi posted 18 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Hakimi's big performance that evening made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points.

New West Charter pushed their record up to 14-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Dr. Maya Angelou Community, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-8.
