Softball Recap: Moniteau Drops Season-High Score on East Forest/West Forest

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Moniteau). They put the hurt on the East Forest/West Forest Fires with a sharp 24-6 victory on Wednesday. With that win, the Warriors brought their scoring average up to 8.2 runs per game.

Lexi Mcghee made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Mcghee was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alex Stewart, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Emma Fitzingo, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3.

Moniteau always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .738. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Moniteau's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Moniteau will take on Brockway at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for East Forest/West Forest, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
