Softball Game Preview: Bellwood-Antis Blue Devils vs. Philipsburg-Osceola Mountaineers

Bellwood-Antis hasn't had much luck against Philipsburg-Osceola recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Bellwood-Antis will head out on the road to take on Philipsburg-Osceola at 4:30 p.m. The last three games Bellwood-Antis has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Monday just wasn't the day for Bellwood-Antis' offense. They fell just short of West Branch by a score of 1-0 on Monday.

Meanwhile, Philipsburg-Osceola got themselves on the board against West Branch on Friday, but West Branch never followed suit. They walked away with a 3-0 win over the Warriors. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mountaineers.

Alivia Bizzarri made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Bizzarri was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emily Gustkey, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Bellwood-Antis' defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Philipsburg-Osceola, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Bellwood-Antis might still be hurting after the 17-4 loss they got from Philipsburg-Osceola in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Bellwood-Antis avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
