Football Recap: Community Christian Academy Starts Season with Win on the Road

Community Christian Academy had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Orangeburg Christian Academy Patriots 38-36. That's more bragging rights for the Ambassadors, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Community Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaxon Hinton, who rushed for 145 yards and one score, and also threw for 174 yards and three TDs on only 15 passes. 112 of Hinton's passing yards were hauled in by Christian Kilpatrick, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Community Christian Academy's defensive line stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Jannel Lorenzo with two sacks.

Community Christian Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Victory Christian at 7:00 p.m. on September 5. As for Orangeburg Christian Academy, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge King Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
