Volleyball Recap: Legacy Wins Going Away Against South Gate

Legacy hadn't done well against South Gate recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Rams. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in March.

The victory didn't come easy: South Gate scored at least 18 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-19, 25-18.

Richard Pinto was the offensive standout of the match as he had eight digs and three aces. That's the most digs he has posted since back in March.

Legacy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for South Gate, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-13.

Legacy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Garfield at 4:00 p.m. on the 23rd. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for South Gate, they have already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against South East on the 10th.
