Volleyball Recap: Connersville Falls Short of Jay County in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Connersville can now relate to. They fell 3-1 to the Jay County Patriots on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Connersville's loss came despite strong showings from Lola Wells and Kendyl Bottomley. Wells had ten digs and two aces, while Bottomley had 13 kills and two blocks. Bottomley is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had eight or more in each of the last 15 games she's played.

This is the second loss in a row for Connersville and nudges their season record down to 13-17. As for Jay County, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-10 record this season.

Connersville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Jay County, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Hamilton Heights on the 18th.
