Baseball Recap: Mount Anthony Triumphs

After losing to Burr & Burton the last time they met, Mount Anthony decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Patriots had just enough and edged out the Bulldogs 4-2.

Jacoby Dicranian made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases.

In other batting news, Mount Anthony let Vance Kobelia and Carson Andrick run wild. Kobelia scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances, while Andrick scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Mount Anthony now has a winning record of 1-0-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Anthony will challenge Hoosick Falls at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Burr & Burton, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will face off against Rice Memorial at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
