Baseball Recap: Miami Trace Gets the Win

Miami Trace won the last time they faced Athens and things went their way on Saturday too. The Panthers came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 14-10.

Gage Bowers made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Bowers was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.

In other batting news, Miami Trace got a massive performance out of Kenton Berry, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three runs gave Berry a new career-high. Brody McBee was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Miami Trace's victory bumped their record up to 9-2-1. As for Athens, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-8.

Miami Trace has already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Fairfield Union on the 25th. As for Athens, they will take on Vinton County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
