Basketball Game Preview: Thurston Colts vs. North Eugene Highlanders

The Thurston Colts will venture away from home to challenge the North Eugene Highlanders at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Thurston has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.

Thurston is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. Everything went their way against Ashland on Friday as Thurston made off with a 59-38 win.

Meanwhile, North Eugene unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a hard 58-42 fall against Springfield. While losing is never fun, the Highlanders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 110th, while the Millers are ranked 35th).

Thurston pushed their record up to 8-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 26 points. As for North Eugene, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9.

Thurston won a game that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in January, slipping by North Eugene 37-36. Will Thurston repeat their success, or does North Eugene have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
